{"id":36,"date":"2006-03-24T08:18:52","date_gmt":"2006-03-24T08:18:52","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.education4site.org\/blog\/?p=36"},"modified":"2006-03-24T08:18:52","modified_gmt":"2006-03-24T08:18:52","slug":"encyclopaedia_b","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.education4site.org\/blog\/2006\/encyclopaedia_b\/","title":{"rendered":"Encyclopaedia Brittanica rejects Nature&#8217;s evaluation of Wikipedia and Brittanica"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blog.lib.umn.edu\/thay0012\/leapfrog\/034312.html\">I posted on the original study<\/a>, so I figure I have to post on the follow-up: <a title=\"BBC NEWS | Technology | Wikipedia study 'fatally flawed'\" href=\"http:\/\/news.bbc.co.uk\/2\/hi\/technology\/4840340.stm\">BBC NEWS | Technology | Wikipedia study &#8216;fatally flawed&#8217;<\/a>.<br \/>\nEncyclopaedia Brittanica has posted <a href=\"http:\/\/corporate.britannica.com\/britannica_nature_response.pdf\">a rejection of Nature&#8217;s evaluation of Brittanica and Wikipedia<\/a>, calling for a retraction of the original article. Nature has <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nature.com\/press_releases\/Britannica_response.pdf\">rejected Brittanica&#8217;s rejection<\/a> and says that they will not retract.<br \/>\nAnd I ask, but which one is more of a knowledge development <i>tool<\/i>? (Hint: I think <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Wikipedia:Talk_page\">transparency<\/a> is necessary for the knowledge development process.)
